Milly Howes – Senior Editor

Hi I’m Milly, a 2nd Italian and History of Art student. As senior editor I’ll be overlooking the paper, organising the articles and sending them to publish. I created Paper Galleries as part of my goal to make history of art more accessible as a field of study and research. In the future I want to teach art history in Italy.

Hey, I’m Ariel, I’m the History of Art Society president, and I handle all the boring parts of running the paper, like going through emails and securing funding, etc. I am currently in my final year of my History of Art BA and I hope to go into academia in the future.

Miriam Kanner – Writer

I’m Miriam, a second-year History of Art student interested in modern, contemporary and post-war art. I write to understand how artworks and artists relate to the world around them and what they can tell us about the times and places they come from. My aim is to look closely and share what I find in a direct and engaging way.

Danielle Martynkin – Writer

Hello! I am Danielle, a third-year History of Art student. I love Dostoevsky, Earl grey, and Sunday gallery hopping. As a writer for Paper Galleries, I intend to review and discuss art both in situ and through theoretical reflection, creating pieces that are educational, accessible, and engaging. Plato famously argued that most art is merely mimetic and devoid of truth. I, on the contrary, believe that anything human-touched carries its own greater truth – shared through a myriad of experiences and connections between the creator, the onlooker, and the world. That is the truth I hope to explore in my work.
